How about we break this section down into parts? Not sure how it can be done, but I'd imagine we can get away with a combination of sticky threads and child boards. Pertaining to actual material: - Theory
- Harmony
- Technique
- Practice routines and exercises
Related stuff: - Reference web sites and articles
- Books and self-study material
- Instructional videos and software trainers
- Other software (e.g. metronome, that funky grimoire scales program, etc)

I like the breakdown, but I'm not crazy about the child boards. One thing that I noticed is that under this forum's format, it's easy to miss them. For instance, the member's personal music recs... That one disappeared from my radar because of it's location. I don't know if there is another format, but the child boards almost seem like a closet where we would hide things.

You guys are too much! I didn't like the childboards much for the very same reason, but I believe (AA, confirm?) that you can change the formatting of the board to make it more visible. I'm just not sure how complicated that is, as I just use others' templates for my [dead] board.

Uh oh, Ilia's here.  I just visited the Lessons page and noticed how inconspicuous that the Guitar School board is. People may miss it because of it's placement. I honestly don't know a good solution to the problem, but it really does seem like a closet section. |

Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat. How about we come up with standard tags to put in front of the subject of each post, based on the list above? Some examples: [THEORY]: The major scale [HARMONY]: Independence of voices [TECHNIQUE]: Finger independence [PRACTICE]: Jer's 20-minute warmup [EXERCISES]: Exerpt from "Guitar Hanon" - arpeggiated triads Then, sort by subject, and bada-bing bada-boom!  |
